Cherokey Fire Protection is working to turn the tide on the estimated $84 million in direct property damage from some 3,520 structure fires in hotels and motels each year.

Cherokey’s fire safety experts, as well as hotels around the world, are grateful that Marriott International has taken the lead in researching, testing and adopting stricter standards. Now, new Marriott locations are safer than ever and older properties are being retrofitted with efficient and modern sprinkler systems as well.

Cherokey paid attention while Marriott researched ways to respond to fires faster while also testing ways to speed up retrofitting activities. One great outcome of Marriott's research was analyzing the 1980’s iron pipe standards, which took rooms out of service for days and destroyed carpet during installation, Marriott opted for plastic pipe, which could be installed quickly and maintained the same integrity as iron pipe.

Proud of the expertise gained by being qualified to install, inspect and repair Marriott’s world class systems, Cherokey Fire Protection was one of the first fire protection companies to switch to quality plastic piping, saving our customers time and money.
